Skopje, 15.10.2020 – Today in the presence of the Mayor of the City of Skopje, Petre Shilegov and the director of the Children’s Cultural Center “Karposh” dr. Biljana Lalchevska Serafimovska, the management of the pharmaceutical company “Varus” opened the new educational center for children and youth aged from 5 to 17, where they can improve and develop their skills and knowledge in the field of natural sciences. Bionika Pharmaceuticals and Novos, together with Varus, are part of a mutual group and this donation represents our small joint contribution to the development of the potential of our youngest researchers and future scientists in our country.
With this donation the company “Varus” marks its 30th jubilee. The educational center is equipped with an interactive panel that enables 3D models of anatomy, microscopes, anatomical models of the human body, DNA models, a complete chemical laboratory set and a distillation apparatus.
“As a celebration of the 30th anniversary of “Varus”, this center for natural sciences represents our small contribution to the development of the potential of our youngest researchers and future scientists in a way to further stimulate their curiosity about natural sciences, expand their horizons and realize their ideas”, said Marko Novović, the CEO of the “Varus” company, and emphasized that this is just one of the many socially responsible projects that the company has been working on for years and will continue to work in the future.
The director of the Children’s Cultural Center “Karposh”, dr. Biljana Lalchevska Serafimovska expressed her gratitude to the company “Varus” and pointed out:
“There is no greater investment than investing in the young generations. This corner was created with lots of love and attention in collaboration with the “Varus” company, where young visitors will be able to develop their skills, improve their knowledge, critical thinking, research skills, draw their own conclusions etc. In addition, “Varus” horticulturally arranged the outdoor space, a small botanical garden, where children and their parents enjoy during the breaks between the activities, following, of course, the special protocols for protection against Covid 19.”
“Today is a good day for the Children’s Cultural Center “Karposh”, we are opening a new educational center thanks to the social responsibility of the company “Varus”. It is a center where our children, our students, will be able to develop their affinities for natural sciences outside of their regular school activities, in a modern learning environment which this donation made it possible. I call on other socially responsible companies in our city as well to invest in the knowledge of children, in the future carriers of our society. I also express gratitude to the employees of DKC, who selflessly invested their extraordinary efforts in these difficult conditions we live in, so that the children’s activities undisturbedly continue” – said the mayor Petre Shilegov.
